As Eliza came to, she had the vaguest sense that she was floating. Her body felt as though it were gently bobbing up and down, suspended weightless in midair. She groaned, feeling the remnants of a headache slowly leaving her. Ugh, the children must have been trying their hand at making music again. She'd have to have Jenny confiscate the troublesome toys as soon as she got up. Eliza forced her eyes open-

-and felt her heart almost stop in her chest.

She was indeed hanging weightless in midair. Reason being was because she being carried by a strange looking boy with bat wings!

Below her, cloaked in darkness, was nothing but fields and trees rushing by at eye-watering speed. Twisting about to look up at her, Eliza recognized the boy's face as the one that had been at her window (last?) night. He didn't look down at her, though his powerful arms clutched at Eliza tightly, paying her no more mind than if she were a sack of potatoes. His wings, protruding from his back, beat the air at a steady pace, carrying the two of them through the night sky much faster than Eliza would have thought possible from the almost lazy expression on his face.

Looking around, Eliza gasped at the sight of two others flying alongside her captor. One was a boy, identical in every way to the first, right down to the same dark blue loose robes and pants the two were wearing. Her captor's twin brother, there could be no doubt. The second creature was a girl, her powerful wings just as large as those of her companions. Unlike the boys, however, her wings protruded from under her arms. This didn't seem to deter the girl, as she kept perfect pace with her companions. As she flew, she turned her head and met Eliza's terrified eyes with her own golden orbs. The girl's steadfast expression didn't change, but Eliza thought the girl's eyes hardened somewhat as they beheld the trembling matron.

"Kenta! Sosuke!" she called, her voice high and clear. At her call, the boys angled their wings and Eliza felt her stomach climb into her throat as the three bat creatures descended into a dense wood. Eliza was rather unceremoniously dumped onto the ground by her captor, her trembling legs having refused to support her. The second boy merely curled his lip at her before striding off to join his brother. Together, the two made their way into the woods. The girl watched them go, the pointed ears atop her head twitching slightly. She knelt down by Eliza, scrutinizing her carefully.

"We'll rest here for now," she said in perfect English. "I suggest you sleep while you can. My cousins will return with food if they find it, but we won't be here long."

"Where... what... I don't...." Eliza could barely stammer out a coherent sentence.

"You'll get your answers," the girl said, setting her back against a tree. "Like I said, rest while you can. We're not stopping again until we get home."

"Home?"

"My uncle's manor in southern Japan."

"Japan?"

"Hai, Japan. We're somewhere in Turkey now, so it shouldn't be long."

Turkey? They were in Turkey? How long had they been flying before Eliza had come to? And why had these creatures- demons, they had to be demons- abducted her? What had she done?
"Do you eat goat?" the girl asked suddenly.

"I... goat?"

"Hai, goat."

"N-n-no," Eliza stammered.

"Then you'll have to wait to eat. My cousins found a stray goat and are bringing it back. I'm not wild about it myself, but some meat is better than none."

"How-?" But the girl was already pointing to her furry ears. Right, bat demons would obviously have better hearing than humans. Eliza shivered and hunkered down, wishing she had a coat or a blanket. She doubted the demons had any type of covering with them. Indeed, the demon girl was wearing only a sleeveless red shirt and a pair of knee-length shorts, but she certainly wasn't shivering.

"Please, I don't understand," Eliza murmured. "Why are you taking me to Japan? And who are you?" The girl turned her head to face Eliza, her golden eyes narrowed and her face cloaked in shadows.

"If I told you my name was Rin Kurosaki, would that mean anything to you?"

"No," Eliza answered. "I've never heard that name in my life." The girl snorted, turning away from Eliza once more.

"A pity," she said, but refused to say anything else except,

"Get some sleep. You'll need it. And don't try to run away. You won't make it two feet before we catch you."

Eliza didn't doubt it. Nor did she doubt that she would remain awake until the demons decided to continue on their journey. In this, however, she proved to be wrong. The sheer weight of her predicament forced her eyes to close and soon Eliza was fast asleep.
